NEW IPL & Laser Safety Online Theory Workshop
Module
Whether you are an experienced Nurse, Doctor, Skin and Dermal Therapist, or Laser / IPL clinician, wanting to upskill your knowledge or are new to this IPL or Laser technology, we believe this workshop sets the benchmark for Laser and IPL safety education while also providing you with the opportunity to gain national certification. This workshop has been endorsed by the Radiological Councils in Tasmania and Western Australia. If you are currently practising IPL or laser technology treatments in Tasmania or Western Australia, this workshop will contribute to your ability to apply for a licence or registration in these states.
Key Learning Outcomes
You will be able to explain the scientific principles behind how and why Lasers and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) operate.
Identify the tissue interactions when using lasers and IPL.
Identify and interpret the legal considerations for the use of laser and IPL technologies in Australian states/territories.
Have an understanding of the safety precautions required when using lasers and IPL in clinical practice.
Identify potential risks and identify resources to develop safety plans for the use of lasers and IPL in a clinical setting.
Classify, explain and select appropriate lasers and IPL for a variety of clinical conditions.
Investment of time:
We anticipate it will take you around 8 hours to complete. However, this self-paced workshop can be done at your own pace, so you can take as long as you like. There is an open-book exam that will also take around one hour to complete.

Understanding How Lasers & IPL Work + Their Therapeutic Treatment Parameters

The Therapeutic Parameters are the variables that need to be adjusted when performing IPL or Laser in order to minimise side effects, optimise the results and reduce the risk of an adverse reaction on the skin.
